How to get there

Directions from Chania airport: shortly after leaving the airport, you turn left towards the main road in the direction of Chania. At the first roundabout after about 2 km, you take the first right in the direction of Chania.

When you arrive at the second roundabout, after another 3.5 km, you take the second exit in the direction of Souda and follow this road for another 5.5 km down the hill, overlooking the bay of Souda and its harbour.

When you come to a traffic light, with an INKA supermarket on your right, you turn right in the direction of Chania and after 200m, at a big, confusing crossroads, you turn left. Going uphill for about 1 km, you reach the turn towards the National Road in the direction of Kissamos to your right. It’s advisable to drive slowly here, because this turn is easy to miss. It’s quite hidden and not well sign-posted, so you come upon it quite suddenly.

You then follow the National Road for about 25 km until you come to the exit Paleochora/Tavronitis where you take a sharp right 270-degree turn. At the T-junction you turn right and then take the very serpentine route across the mountains, going through the villages of Voukolies, Dromonero, Kakopetros, Floria, Kandanos, Plemeniana, Kakodiki, Vlithias and Kalamos, until after about 62 km you reach Paleochora.

Once you have entered the town, you will see the modern hotel Libyan Princess on your left. After the hotel you turn immediately left into a small road and then from there, you follow the signs towards Christos Place, with the beehive logo. The drive takes you all the way up the hill, through the gorge, until you reach the mountain village of Anidri and you find us in the centre of the village in the café “Sto Scolio”.

If you want to go to the maisonettes in Paleochora at the harbour, continue straight on after the hotel Libyan Princess, take the next right and follow the road. There you will come directly to the sandy beach and continue along the road to the left until you reach the port. On the left side just before the entrance to the port there is a gravel road to the left where you will see our Christos Place sign in front of our houses.

The journey time from the airport is about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Recommendation: Print out the directions or download the corresponding route planning from the Internet. This will prevent the GPS from guiding you through the small mountain villages.
